PROJECTS :: CIVIC

Peruvian Art Chapel
Miami, Florida

This commission is on behalf of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church to design a chapel to house the church’s extensive collection of Spanish Colonial Paintings from the Cuzco School, and to cater to the expanding Peruvian community in Florida. The chapel’s design is inspired by the design of the Colonial era church of Mary Magdalene in Lima, Peru.

The church’s façade is classically inspired and refers back to the Churriguresque and Moorish styles frequently used in the Spanish colonies. The Church’s interior shall be adorned with four hand made wood and gold leaf side altars which shall frame the paintings, and a main altar as the centerpiece.
